Why an estate sale is usually better than auction
Sending things through auction can be risky. Packing up the contents of a house requires time and effort, whether it’s done by family or a professional service. The items then have to be transported to the auction location, which can be very labour intensive and expensive. Both steps carry the risk of potential damage or loss.

An auction will all take place within an hour or two and that results depend on who shows up that day, what they are looking for and how much money they have to spend. The items that don’t interest that limited audience have to be taken back.

By contrast, selling the contents right from the house in an estate sale avoids all that expense, inconvenience and potential risk. Many serious buyers are invited to make offers and the best decisions are made on your behalf, all over a 2-3 day sale period. And a professional estate sale service will clear the house completely for you.
